Are you a dedicated exerciser or a couch potato? Do you participate in surfing competitions or just surf the channels? Wherever you are in your pursuit of physical fitness and optimal body mechanics, this short assessment can help guide you to the next level of physical fitness.
The purpose of our Fitness Assessment is to determine roughly where you are in your pursuit of physical fitness and optimal body mechanics, and then to make recommendations on how you can progress to the next level. Obviously, a short questionnaire cannot produce a detailed fitness level evaluation, which can only be accurately determined by hands-on fitness testing. But it will give you a jumping off point from which to become more deeply involved in the health and function of your body.
The Fitness Assessment covers all the basic areas of good physical conditioning: cardiovascular (also known as aerobic) fitness, strength (which includes muscular power and endurance), movement style, balance, body composition and flexibility. We also look at how often you exercise, whether or not you enjoy it, and what your favorite activities are. We give you a summary of how well you are doing in each of these key areas, followed by specific suggestions on improving where needed.
Other assessments that complement our Fitness Assessment, and that you may also want to take, include Pain and Limitations and Movement Awareness. To find out how extensive your knowledge of fitness is (or is not), try out our Fitness Quotient. Taken together, these several assessments will give you a good overview of your physical condition and knowledge, as well as how healthfully and efficiently you move.
