Whether you're exercising regularly or not, the more you know about fitness, the more efficient you will be when you do exercise. There are a number of fitness myths floating about, and even the most educated of us may believe them. Take this Fitness Quotient and find out how savvy you are about fitness and exercise. Even the most educated exerciser will probably learn something.
We should warn you, though: this is a difficult test. Even a varsity athlete may have trouble with some of the questions. That's because we want you to understand the subtleties of exercise and movement so that you can get the most benefit out of every activity. This includes avoiding injury, which is obviously important, especially as you get older.
The idea here is not how well you do on the test (although we all feel great when we earn a high score), but to learn something. Read the correct answers and explanations carefully, as there is a wealth of knowledge in them. Then apply your new knowledge whenever you exercise. (Not sure how frequent and intense your exercise should be? Take the Fitness Quotient to find out!)
Other assessments that complement the Fitness Quotient, and that you may also want to take, include the Fitness Assessment, Pain and Limitations and Movement Awareness. Taken together, these several assessments will give you a good overview of your physical condition and knowledge, as well as how healthfully and efficiently you move.
