Since most of us are under stress at least some of the time, we'd better learn to deal with it. The Stress Management Assessment helps you do just that. It asks you a little about your preferences regarding stress management techniques, and based on your answers, provides three techniques that will be most useful to you. We describe these techniques and what they are best suited for in the Results section, and give you some instruction in performing them under the Recommendations. As you explore these and other stress management techniques, you will find yourself ever more prepared to face the stresses of daily life.
Since there are almost as many approaches to stress management as there are types of stress, you need to choose those that make the most sense for you. The screening questions in this assessment help us narrow the choices somewhat, so that we can present you with three specific techniques that you can use to manage stress, based on your needs and preferences. You can choose to try one or all of them.
We then describe each of these techniques to give you an understanding of what they are, how they work, and how each one can benefit you. Under the Recommendations tab, you will find beginning instructions on practicing each of these techniques, where applicable.
NOTE: Depending upon your age and level of health, it may be appropriate to consult with your physician before starting a new stress management program. Although all our stress management programs are very safe, it's always a good idea to let your physician know whenever you make a significant lifestyle change.
